We know that hundreds of jobs from people delivering frontline services are being lost at Somerset County Council, but to be fair to the Conservatives, they have created jobs as well.

Priorswood Parking
Lib Dem Councillors in North Taunton are working hard to solve the parking problem at Priorswood shops. The results of the consultation have been presented and we are awaiting a response. We are campaigning for a three hour parking limit to be introduced on the car park to benefit local shops and residents.
North Taunton Youth Centre Funding
Your Lib Dem Councillors are pleased to report that money has been secured for the North Taunton Youth Club and volunteers have already been recruited. The facilities will be open to community use and it is hoped that a Boxing Club can be added in the future.

Taunton Library to have hours cut
The Tory run council is to cut the opening hours of Taunton library by twenty percent. On top of this they have decided that the public will have to maintain the limited service out of their own pockets, with £395,000 in donations that won’t result in the cuts being reversed.

Galmington Parking Problems
Local campaigner Justine Baker has met with, and spoken to, several residents in Galmington Road, Galmington Close and Musgrove Road where they have an ongoing problem with staff and visitors of Musgrove Park Hospital parking in their roads.

PCSO Funding Cuts
The Conservatives are cutting all Deane and County Council funded PCSO’s. Local campaigners are concerned that this will lead to an increase in crime, anti social behaviour and the fear of being a victim of crime especially amongst groups of vulnerable people.
